Your Body Is Speaking
The twelfth thoracic vertebra is the last vertebra of your thoracic spine — the point where the heart region ends and the lumbar region begins. Anatomically, it is a transitional vertebra: it connects the ribcage with the lower back, the protective with the load-bearing. When this vertebra causes problems, it is no coincidence of position. It is a signal from precisely the zone where two worlds meet.
Conditions at the twelfth thoracic vertebra manifest as blockages, pain, inflammation, or signs of wear — and they affect you at a spot you are barely consciously aware of in everyday life. You may feel a pulling at the transition to the lower back, a stiffness that is hard to grasp, a diffuse sense of pressure that cannot be clearly assigned to either the chest cavity or the lumbar region.
