Too Much Brain Fluid
9 min read
Also known as: excess cerebrospinal fluid · cerebrospinal fluid congestion · raised intracranial pressure · brain water · enlarged ventricles · too much brain water · Liquor cerebrospinalis · intracranial hypertension
Your Body Is Speaking
Your brain is swimming — literally. The cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects your brain is being produced in too great a quantity or is not draining sufficiently. The pressure rises. Headaches, nausea, visual disturbances, dizziness — as if your skull were pressing outward against its own walls from the inside. Medically this is called hydrocephalus or raised intracranial pressure. The fluid that is supposed to protect your brain becomes a burden.
From a psychosomatic perspective a different question arises: What is accumulating in your head that finds no outlet? What have you taken in — in the way of thoughts, impressions, information, feelings — that now finds no way out? Your body enacts a precise image: the head is overfull. Not with fluid — with unlived potential.
Too much brain fluid is not an excess of protection, but an excess of intake without expression.
