Vitiligo

Your Body Is Speaking

It begins with a small pale patch. Perhaps on the hand, the arm, the face. At first you think it is nothing — a whim of the skin. But then it spreads. More patches appear, irregular, unpredictable. The pigment cells disappear, as if someone had erased the colour from your skin. Piece by piece.

Medically, vitiligo is an autoimmune disease — the immune system attacks the melanocytes, the cells responsible for pigmentation. The body, then, destroys its own colouring. Viewed psychosomatically, a question opens here that reaches deeper than any skin layer: why does your body erase your own colour? What within you has decided to become invisible?

Vitiligo is not a cosmetic problem — it is a disappearance. And at the same time, a call to finally become visible.
