Your Body Is Speaking

Your joints go further than they should. They hyperextend, overstretch, buckle in directions that other bodies do not allow. Medically this is called hypermobility — an excessive range of motion in the joints, often accompanied by pain, instability, and the constant risk of dislocation. What others admire as flexibility is for you a state of permanent insecurity: your body has no clear boundaries.

Medicine describes the syndrome as a connective tissue weakness, often genetically determined. And that is an important note — where there is a hereditary component, this is not about blame or about the question of what you did wrong. But even a genetically predisposed condition has a psychosomatic dimension. The question is not: why do you have this body? The question is: what is this body showing you about the way you stand in life?
