Lacrimal Glands

There are two ways in which lacrimal glands can make themselves noticed. The first: they run dry. The eye becomes dry, burns, itches, reacts sensitively to wind, to screens, to the early morning when the lids are stuck together. Emotion still reaches you — but the moisture stays away. You feel something, yet the body does not mirror it. The second: they overflow. At every second song, every advertisement, at a glance, a tone of voice, a memory. You become wet before you know why.
