Your Body Is Speaking
Thalassemia is a genetic condition. That needs to be said first, clearly and without ambiguity: your hemoglobin — the substance in your red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout your entire body — is malformed or produced in insufficient quantities due to an inherited gene mutation. Your blood cannot fully perform its fundamental task. You become tired, pale, short of breath. In severe forms, your body requires regular blood transfusions just to function at all.
That is medicine. That is genetics. And no inner process changes any of that.
