Your Body Is Speaking
Deaf-mutism means: a person who from birth, or very early in childhood, cannot hear — and who therefore has not learned spoken language through the natural path. The ear that the world does not reach. The larynx that forms no spoken words. Two gates that remained closed before they could ever open.
Medically speaking, there are clear causes: genetic disposition, prenatal infections, oxygen deprivation at birth, early childhood illness. Hearing research knows the anatomy of the inner ear down to its finest hair cells. All of that is real. All of it has its place.
