Sunstroke

At first it is just a slight flickering behind the eyes. A dull throbbing at the temples. The skin is burning, the back of the neck is hot, the head feels besieged — too full, too bright, too loud. Then comes the nausea. The dizziness. The feeling that something within you has fallen out of balance and can no longer regulate itself. You have to get somewhere cool, dark, quiet — immediately. Your body has capitulated before a force that worked on it from outside and that it could no longer ward off.
