Sensorimotor Dyspraxia

Your hand reaches for the glass — and misses it by millimeters. Your fingers want to tie a knot, but the movement falls apart into individual fragments that can't come together. Your gait feels as though you have to consciously plan every single step instead of just walking. Your mouth forms words that don't come out the way you intended. What runs automatically for other people — grasping, writing, walking, speaking, cooking, getting dressed — demands from you an effort that no one from the outside can see.

From a medical standpoint, sensorimotor dyspraxia is a neurological coordination disorder: the brain has difficulty planning, sequencing, and executing movement sequences fluidly. The connection between intention and execution is disrupted — not the muscle strength, not the will, but the bridge between them.
