Seasickness

The ground beneath you is no longer solid. It rises, falls, tilts, turns. Your stomach rebels, your head empties, you feel cold and hot at the same time. You search for a handhold, a horizon, anything that does not move — but everything sways along with it. And then comes the nausea that does not stop, not until you are back on solid land or have let yourself go completely.

Medicine explains this as a conflict in the sense of balance. Your inner ear reports movement, your eyes report an apparently stable interior space — the information does not fit together, and your brain interprets it as poisoning. So it triggers the oldest protective mechanism the body knows: getting rid of everything that might be wrong.
