Mucosal Polyps of the Female Genitals

Polyps are growths of tissue that emerge from the mucous membrane — small, soft protrusions forming where smooth tissue should be. At the female genitals — in the uterus, at the cervix, occasionally in the vagina — they are common and usually benign. Medically they are considered harmless, observed or removed.

But from a psychosomatic perspective a different question arises: why does your body form tissue that does not belong there? Why does something arise at a place connected to creative force, femininity, and inner growth — something that does grow, but serves no purpose?

A polyp is not healthy growth. It is a proliferation — something that arises when the impulse to grow is present but finds no clear direction. Your body builds something that looks like development, but is not.
