Your Body Is Speaking
Your mucous membranes are the finest boundary you have. Softer than skin, thinner than a thought — and yet they decide, every second, what is allowed inside you and what stays out. In the mouth, nose, throat, eyes, stomach, intestines, urinary tract, genitals: wherever your inside meets the outside, they are there. A permeable membrane, created for exchange.
When this boundary is irritated — burning, dry, swollen, inflamed, congested — something deeper is speaking. Medicine finds causes enough: viruses, bacteria, irritants, deficiencies, hormonal fluctuations. All valid. And yet the second question is worth asking. Why now? Why this particular spot? Why is your softest area — the one responsible for encounter — responding in this way?
The mucous membrane is the translator between your world and the world. When it suffers, something in your way of making contact usually suffers too.
