Your Body Is Speaking
The pubic bone is one that most people rarely think about — until it hurts. It sits in the front, lower part of your pelvis, at the point where the two halves of the pelvis meet. It is a place that is simultaneously central and hidden. Anatomically, the pubic bone forms the anterior boundary of your pelvic floor — that region which carries and protects your deepest organs. When pain arises here, it touches a region that could hardly be more symbolically charged: the transition between what you show and what you conceal.
Medically, pubic bone complaints can stem from overuse, inflammation of the pubic symphysis, or muscular imbalances in the pelvic region. From a psychosomatic perspective, a different question arises: What is happening in your innermost self that the very bone which lies like a shield before your most vulnerable area is the one that hurts?
