Sadomasochism

There is a form of sexuality that draws from the tension between power and surrender — consciously, consensually, between adults who know what they are doing. That is not what this text is about. Two people who engage in mutual agreement with roles, intensity and physicality are living a form of intimacy that can have its own maturity. That is not a symptom.

This text speaks of something else. It speaks of the moment when a compulsion shows itself behind the desire. When pain is no longer a spice but the only door through which you still feel that you are alive. When submission is no longer a gift but a flight — and control is no longer play but armour. When what feels like intimacy is in truth a repetition of old injuries. When you know inside: I cannot do otherwise.
