Rickets

Also known as: vitamin D deficiency · English disease · Rachitis infantilis · softening of the bones · bone deformity · rickets · soft bones · vitamin D deficiency rickets · bow legs from rickets · osteomalacia

Your Body Is Speaking

Your bones are softening. What should be hard, stable, load-bearing — yields. In children, the legs bend, the chest deforms, growth stalls. In adults the condition is called osteomalacia — the bones lose their density, they ache with every load, they break more easily. Medically, the matter is clear: vitamin D is lacking, calcium is not incorporated, the bone tissue remains immature. The treatment follows accordingly: sunlight, supplementation, diagnostics.

But there is a second level that is rarely asked about: Why can your body not absorb what it needs to become stable? Why does your framework stay soft — as though it never learned to truly carry you?
