Your Body Is Speaking

Your pupils are the finest regulators your body possesses. Two dark openings that adjust ceaselessly — widening in dim light, narrowing in sunlight. They decide in milliseconds how much world is allowed in. How much light you can bear. How much reality your inner self can process in this moment.

When this regulation is disturbed — when one pupil is noticeably wider or narrower than the other, when they no longer respond properly to light, when they remain excessively dilated or clamp shut — your body is showing you something that reaches far beyond optics. Medically, there are serious causes to be ruled out: neurological findings, medication effects, inflammation, injuries. And at the same time the second question is worth asking: What is your perception trying to tell you?
