Your Body Is Speaking
It burns when you urinate. A dull pressure in the lower abdomen that doesn't let up. Pain in the pelvic floor, in the groin, sometimes radiating into the lower back. Frequent urge to urinate, but the bladder empties only reluctantly. Perhaps pain during ejaculation. Perhaps a diffuse discomfort that cannot be precisely located, but is constantly present — like an undercurrent you cannot switch off.
Medicine distinguishes between bacterial and non-bacterial forms of prostatitis. The bacterial form has clear causes and clear treatment paths. But the far more common non-bacterial form — chronic pelvic pain syndrome — often puzzles doctors: everything inflamed, nothing to be found. No pathogen, no structural defect, and yet pain.
