Post-Nasal Drip

Your Body Is Speaking
It runs backward. Not out, not away, not into a tissue — but inward, down the throat, in a thick, sticky stream that you swallow, clear, swallow, clear. Over and over. A pressure behind the nose, a lump feeling in the throat, an irritating cough that never quite goes away. Perhaps your voice is hoarse in the morning. Perhaps your throat feels raw without your being ill. Medically this is called post-nasal drip — post-nasal mucus syndrome.
Conventional medicine looks for the cause in the sinuses, in allergens, in irritated mucous membranes, in an oversensitive nasal turbinate. That is correct as far as it goes. But it doesn't answer the question your body is actually asking. And that question is not: why does my body produce too much mucus? It is: why does what should go out run inward?
