Torn and Bleeding Penis

A tear. A burning. Blood where none should be. The penis — this organ that, more than almost any other, is bound up with strength, desire, and self-image — shows a wound. Perhaps a fine tear at the glans, perhaps near the urethral opening, perhaps beneath the foreskin. Whatever the triggering movement was: there is a place that has torn open. There is blood. And there is shame that mixes with the pain, because this subject is barely speakable for many men.
