Your Body Is Speaking

Your skin is burning. It itches, it reddens, it cracks open. Sometimes overnight, sometimes in waves, sometimes without a recognizable trigger. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that often begins in early childhood and frequently appears alongside allergies, hay fever, or asthma. Medically it involves overreacting immune responses, a disrupted skin barrier, genetic predisposition.

From a psychosomatic perspective a different question arises: what wants to come out that you are not letting out? And what is attacking you that actually lies within yourself?

Your skin is your outermost boundary. It is the organ with which you touch the world — and with which the world touches you. When this boundary becomes inflamed, that is no coincidence, but a signal from the depths: something is not right between inside and outside.
