Uterine Fibroid

Something is growing in your uterus that does not belong there. A fibroid — a benign growth of muscle tissue, medically also called leiomyoma or fibroma. It can be tiny or fist-sized, it can occur singly or in clusters. Some women barely notice it. Others suffer from heavy bleeding, pressure, pain in the lower abdomen — as if something inside them is growing that is claiming space that belongs to them.

Medicine views fibroids as hormone-dependent growths — estrogen-driven, common, in most cases not dangerous. But the psychosomatic question goes deeper: why does something grow in your most creative organ that is not life? What is taking up space there, where your most fundamental force actually has its seat?
