Your Body Is Speaking

Your spinal cord is the central conduit between your brain and your body. Every thought that is to become movement, every feeling that sets your skin aglow, every impulse that curls a finger — all of it must pass through this one narrow strand of nerve tissue, protected by the spine, embedded in membranes and fluid. When the spinal cord becomes inflamed, the connection between will and body is disrupted. Commands no longer arrive. Sensations are dampened, distorted, or disappear entirely. Sometimes legs fail, bladder, hands.

Medically speaking, myelitis can have many causes — an infection, a misdirected immune system, an autoimmune derailment. Neurological clarification is important and urgent. But that only explains what your body is reacting with — not why this particular central conduit has become inflamed. Why the place where control and embodiment converge?
