Your Body Is Speaking
Something in you has torn. Not just a thread in the tissue — something inside. The muscle fibre tear is no longer a harmless overexertion, no small pulling that can be massaged away, but the moment in which the body pulls the emergency brake. In the middle of movement, often in a sprint, a jump, a starting push. A stab, a crack in the tissue, a sudden inability to continue. And then: stillness.
Medically speaking, individual muscle fibres have torn. The force you sent through this muscle was greater than the force it could withstand in that moment. Small blood vessels rupture, the tissue swells, it hurts terribly. The usual explanation: too little warm-up, too cold, too fatigued, too much too fast. All of that is true — and still does not explain everything.
