Mouth Breathing

Your Body Is Speaking

Your body has two ways to take in air — the nose and the mouth. The nose is the true airway: it filters, warms, moistens, regulates. It is the organ of fine, complete intake. The mouth is for speaking, eating, tasting. When you breathe through your mouth continuously, you skip an entire process. You take in air — but you don't truly receive it. You survive, but you don't receive.

Medicine has its explanations: enlarged tonsils, polyps, a deviated septum, chronic allergies. All of that is real, and all of it deserves attention. But there is a level that lies deeper than anatomy.

Mouth breathing is an emergency program. And the question BodySignal asks is: Why does your system live in a state where emergency programs have become the norm?
