Your Body Is Speaking

It often begins with a premonition. A shimmer at the edge of your visual field, a strange stillness in your head, a faint pull behind your forehead. Then the pain arrives — pulsing, drilling, usually on one side, as if your skull is being pressed against a wall from within. Light becomes unbearable. Sounds become knives. Nausea rises. You retreat into a dark room and wait for it to pass.

Medically, migraine is classified as a neurological condition — an overreaction of the nervous system in which blood vessels in the brain dilate and inflammatory messengers are released. But the question neurology doesn't answer is: Why right now? Why you? And why does it keep returning — often in the very moments when you should finally be at rest?

Migraine is no ordinary headache. It is a storm that breaks when inner tension is no longer bearable.
