The tonsils lie at the entrance to the throat like a checkpoint — arranged in pairs, well supplied with blood, threaded with fine crypts through which they examine what comes in. They are part of your immune system, but more than that: they sit exactly at the boundary between outside and inside. Between what you take in and what you are. Between what is allowed to reach you and what you turn away.
Everything you eat, drink, breathe, or speak passes through this zone. The tonsils are the first to make contact — with bacteria, viruses, food particles, but also with the subtle energetic currents that travel through your throat inward and outward. They are gatekeepers. They help decide what is allowed in.
