Paralysis

Nothing works anymore. The legs don't obey, the hands grasp at nothing, a body part — or the entire body — refuses to function. What was self-evident just now is suddenly impossible: walking, grasping, holding, moving. The world continues, but you are standing still — not because you don't want to, but because your body cannot.

Neurologically, paralysis is an interruption of signal transmission between the brain and musculature. Nerve pathways are damaged, blocked, or functionally disturbed.
