Loss of Coordination

Also known as: coordination disorder · impaired movement coordination · clumsiness · ataxia · lack of bodily coordination · motor coordination disorder
Your Body Is Speaking
Your movements become imprecise. The hand reaches past its target, the foot does not quite find the step, your gait grows unsteady. What was once effortless — keeping balance, reaching accurately, walking fluidly — suddenly falls apart. The body no longer obeys what your mind tells it.
From a medical perspective, loss of coordination is a neurological phenomenon. The cerebellum, the nerve pathways, proprioception — somewhere in the chain of perception and control, something is catching. The causes are varied and must be clarified.
But there is a second level that is rarely examined. Coordination means that different parts of you are working together — intention, perception, musculature, timing. When this interplay breaks down, it is worth asking: what in your life is no longer working together? Where have you lost your inner alignment?
