Your Body Is Speaking

It starts harmlessly. A tingling, a prickling, a quiet burning — somewhere on the skin, sometimes everywhere at once. You scratch, and for a moment it is better. Then it comes back. Stronger. You scratch again. And again. The cycle turns — itching, scratching, brief relief, new itching — until your skin is reddened, scratched open, raw. The scratching that was meant to bring relief becomes a problem itself.

From a medical standpoint, itching can have dozens of causes: allergies, skin diseases, internal conditions, medications, nerve disorders. The skin reacts to histamine, to inflammatory processes, to stimuli that are sometimes measurable — and sometimes not. From a psychosomatic standpoint another level opens: your skin is your outermost boundary. It is the surface where you and the world meet. When it burns, itches, prickles there — what wants to get out that finds no way?
