Your Body Is Speaking
Triglycerides are fats your body stores as an energy reserve. When you eat, your system converts excess calories into triglycerides and stores them — for later, for times of scarcity, for emergencies. That is a clever mechanism. But when your blood is permanently oversaturated with these fats, something strange happens: your body hoards energy it does not use. It stores and stores — as if the scarcity would never end.
From a medical standpoint, persistently high triglyceride levels increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. That is to be taken seriously. But it is worth looking one level deeper. Because the question behind the lab result is not only: What am I eating wrong? It is: What can I not absorb — even though it has long been there?
