Your Body Is Speaking

During pregnancy, a boy's testicles normally migrate from the abdominal cavity downward into the scrotum. In cryptorchidism — medically known as Maldescensus testis — one or both testicles get stuck along the way. They never reach their place. Medically, this is one of the most common congenital anomalies in boys, and treatment — whether by hormone therapy or surgery — takes clear priority. There is nothing to question there.

And yet the psychosomatic perspective asks a complementary question: What does it mean when a part of the body fails to take its rightful place? When something that was meant to move outward — visible, tangible, exposed — remains instead in the protected interior?

The testicle that does not descend is an organ that refuses to arrive — not out of defiance, but out of protection.
