Your Body Is Speaking
The cleft palate is one of the most common congenital malformations. Still in the womb, in the first weeks of embryonic development, the tissue parts of the palate do not close completely — a gap remains, an opening that must be corrected medically and that today is operated on with great success. Surgical treatment has absolute priority and enables the vast majority of those affected to live a completely normal life.
The psychosomatic perspective comes here not as an explanation, but as a complement. It does not ask about guilt — neither in the parents nor in the child. It asks: what soul themes accompany this physical sign? Not because it would be a punishment or a failure. But because the body sometimes brings with it a story that wants to be heard — quietly, gently, without pressure.
