Gallbladder Complaints

The gallbladder is a small, unassuming organ — a pouch no larger than a pear, tucked beneath the liver. Its task is simple: it collects bile produced by the liver and releases it into the small intestine when needed, to digest fats. It is an organ of processing — it helps you break down, utilise, and pass on what you take in.

When this organ causes trouble — gallstones, inflammation, colic, a pressing pain in the upper right abdomen that radiates into the shoulder — a process that should flow freely has stalled. Something thickens, hardens, backs up. Medically, this can be explained. From a psychosomatic perspective, a different question arises: What in your inner experience has become so dense that it can no longer flow?
