Your Body Is Speaking
There are moments when life feels like an ocean without a shore. The waves come — grief, despair, exhaustion — and at some point you stop swimming. Not because you are not strong enough. But because you no longer know where to swim to.
Drowning is not an accident that only happens in water. Long before a person is in physical danger, they can be drowning inside — in feelings that no longer find any ground. In a sadness that has grown so deep it fills every breath. In a loneliness that feels as though no one notices you are going under.
The psychosomatic perspective does not ask: What went wrong? It asks: What was so unbearable that going under seemed easier than continuing to swim? And this question deserves an honest, careful answer.
