Shot Dead

A shot is final. It pierces every boundary, every skin, every defence. It comes from outside — and yet it strikes something that was already wounded long before the bullet flew. Whoever loses their life to a firearm stands before the hardest of all questions: is there, in this moment — beyond the obvious violence, beyond the crime — also an inner dimension that wants to be understood?

Before we go further, a clear word: an act like this is a crime. The perpetrator's responsibility stands. Unconditionally. Nothing that follows in this text relativises that. The psychosomatic perspective does not ask about guilt. It asks: which inner patterns contributed to the vulnerability? Not to lay anything at the victim's door — but to deepen the path of healing.
