Your heart beats — and every beat follows an invisible choreography. An electrical impulse arises in the sinoatrial node, travels through the atria, passes the AV node, spreads through the ventricles. The whole thing takes fractions of a second. It happens without you thinking about it. Millions of times a day. For decades.

Until it falters. With an SA block, the impulse is already delayed at the exit of the sinoatrial node — the signal never really gets going. With an AV block, conduction between the atria and the ventricles is disturbed — the impulse doesn't reach its destination, or reaches it only with a delay. Sometimes you feel it as a missed beat, as dizziness, as sudden fatigue. Sometimes you don't feel it at all. But your heart feels it.
