Erosion of the Cervix

The mucous membrane at the cervix is changing. What medicine describes as erosion or ectopy — a reddening around the cervical os, where the delicate tissue from the interior migrates outward — is often harmless, but frequently accompanied by discharge, light bleeding, or a diffuse discomfort in the lower abdomen.
