Electric Shock

An electric shock is brutal and unmistakable. In a fraction of a second, a force travels through your body that you cannot control. Muscles seize, breath catches, the heart loses its rhythm. Medicine knows the mechanisms precisely: current flows through tissue, disrupts electrical signals in nerves and heart, can leave burns or become life-threatening.

But from a psychosomatic perspective, a different question arises: why do you end up in a situation in which an external force passes through you so violently? What is happening inside you that mirrors itself as a sudden discharge in the outer world?

An electric shock is not a slow signal, but a flash — a moment in which something that has long been building up discharges in a single second. And that is its message: in you something has accumulated that no longer finds a way out.
