DSAP

Small, ring-shaped spots on the skin. Sharply defined, slightly keratinised, often rough like fine sandpaper. They appear where the sun reaches — forearms, lower legs, shoulders. Individually they are barely noticeable, but they multiply. Slowly, steadily, like a collection nobody ordered. Medicine calls it DSAP: Disseminated Superficial Actinic Porokeratosis. A keratinization disorder triggered by years of UV exposure, genetically favoured, usually visible from midlife onward.

But there is a second level that is rarely considered. Your skin — the organ with which you meet the world, with which you show yourself and draw boundaries — forms ring-shaped hardenings. Small walls that dig into the surface like craters. And they appear exactly where you expose yourself to the light. Not in hiding. But at the places where you are visible.
