Dissociative Identity Disorder

There are moments when you no longer know who is living. Hours, days, sometimes entire chapters of life that you cannot remember. You find clothing in your wardrobe that you did not buy. People approach you as if you know each other well — and you have never seen them before. You read letters in your own handwriting and do not recognise the words as yours. Something in you sometimes speaks in a voice that is not your usual one. Sometimes this something calls itself by another name. Sometimes it is a child. Sometimes it is someone who fights. Sometimes it is someone who protects.
