Your Body Is Speaking

Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide — and one of the quietest. Often you notice nothing. No pain, no alarm, no obvious sign. The bacteria settle in, spread, and you carry on as if nothing had happened. Only later — sometimes weeks, sometimes months — does the body respond: a burning sensation when urinating, unusual discharge, lower abdominal pain. Or it does not respond at all, and the infection is discovered by chance.

Medically, chlamydia is readily treatable — antibiotics eliminate the infection reliably in most cases. That is important, and it comes first. But the psychosomatic perspective poses an additional question: why now? Why you? And what does your body have to tell you when it allows an infection precisely in the area of your intimacy?
