Your Body Is Speaking
Burnett syndrome — known in medicine as calcium-alkali syndrome — is one of those quiet conditions you do not acquire overnight. It creeps up. Over months, sometimes years, your body has absorbed too much calcium, paired with alkaline substances — usually through high-dose preparations taken for osteoporosis, heartburn, or brittle bones. At some point the system makes itself known: blood calcium rises, the kidneys desperately try to compensate, the acid-base balance tips toward alkalosis. Nausea, weakness, confusion, increased thirst, a pressure in the head that refuses to lift.
