Your Body Is Speaking

Your hands are your tools. With them you reach into the world, shape your life, touch other people. When blisters form on your hands — those taut, fluid-filled elevations beneath the skin — your body is showing you something precise: between what is pressing inside you and what you are actually doing, a pressure has built up that wants out.

Medically, blisters form through friction, heat, or skin irritation. The skin separates in layers, and fluid collects in between — a protective mechanism, a cushion between what lies beneath the surface and what is pressing on you from outside. Seen psychosomatically, this image tells its own story: something inside you is wearing itself raw. A tension you have been carrying too long has reached a point where the surface can no longer hold.
