Beryllium Poisoning

Beryllium is a metal that lodges in the lungs and triggers inflammation that never subsides. It penetrates, it stays, and the body can no longer rid itself of it on its own. What begins as exposure becomes a chronic burden — creeping, wearing, silent. The lungs harden. The breath grows shorter. The body carries something that does not belong to it and yet cannot get free of it.

Medically, the matter is clear: toxic exposure, occupational burden, an immune reaction that spirals out of control.
