Your Body Is Speaking

The pancreas is one of the quietest organs you have. You don't notice it when it is working — you only notice it when something goes wrong. And yet in every second it accomplishes something that almost no other organ accomplishes: it connects two entirely different tasks within a single tissue. On one side it produces the enzymes with which you can actually digest your food. On the other side it regulates how much sweetness — in the form of sugar — reaches your cells and how much of it you can convert into energy.

Digestive power and sweetness. Strength and enjoyment. These are the two poles between which this organ lives. When your pancreas gets out of balance, something in this interplay tips. Either the power runs dry — you can barely take in what comes at you. Or the sweetness no longer arrives — everything feels flavorless, no matter how full your life appears from the outside.
