Abdominal Complaints

There is pressure. There is pulling. There are cramps. Sometimes dull and just below the surface, sometimes so intense you double over. Your belly — that large, soft centre of your body — is making itself heard in a language that cannot be ignored. Bloating, cramps, nausea, diffuse pains that come and go without any recognizable pattern. You have been to the doctor, perhaps more than once. The findings are inconclusive, or the diagnosis remains vague: irritable bowel, functional complaints, stress-related.
