Body Dehydration and Dryness

Your Body Is Speaking
Your body is drying out. The skin becomes cracked, the mucous membranes brittle, the lips split. Tissue that should be supple grows fragile. Organs dependent on moisture begin to suffer. Medically, this is called dehydration — a deficit of fluid in the body that can range from mild dryness to serious organ damage.
But here begins the real question. Because dehydration is not always a matter of how much you drink. Some people drink enough and still dry out. Their body seems unable to hold onto water — or unwilling to accept it. The psychosomatic perspective therefore asks not only: how much are you drinking? It asks: what in you is so dried out that your body is making it visible?
Water is life. It flows, it nourishes, it connects. When your body dries out, it is showing you that something essential has stopped flowing — not in your cells, but in your way of living.
