Atypical Pneumonia

It is not quite a cold, but not quite a pneumonia either — something in between. A cough that settles in and refuses to leave. A fatigue that cannot be explained. Perhaps a slight fever, perhaps none at all — but this stubborn feeling that something inside you is not running right. For days. For weeks. You tell yourself: it will pass. But it does not pass. It does not burn — it smolders.

Medically, atypical pneumonia has a peculiar course: no thunderous onset with high fever and chills, but a slow sliding into a state in which your body is working without anyone noticing. The pathogens are different from those in the classical form — mycoplasma, chlamydia, viruses, sometimes unknown. But the pattern is always the same: the body runs on a small, persistent flame.
