Arrogance and Egoism

Also known as: self-importance · haughtiness · superiority · pride · conceit · vanity · egocentricity · self-centredness · need for recognition · self-aggrandisement · condescension · hubris · presumption · self-righteousness · narcissistic traits · self-infatuation · contempt for others · and also the quiet form: self-deprecation as hidden arrogance
Your Body Is Speaking
Arrogance is not a classic symptom — it is an attitude. But it leaves traces in the body, and that is why it belongs here. The neck grows stiff because the head refuses to bow. The shoulders pull upward because the system is permanently on guard. The jaw locks because it cannot admit it doesn't know something. The chest closes because others are not truly allowed in.
You may first notice it in the symptoms that grow from it: recurring headaches that arrive precisely when someone disagrees. Back tension that will not release no matter how much you stretch. An inner restlessness that grows heavier the more people around you refuse to be as you need them to be. And often also the opposite of obvious pride: a deep heaviness, a chronic sense of smallness, which is equally an expression of a distorted self-positioning.
