Your Body Is Speaking

The nose runs, the mucous membranes swell, you sneeze uncontrollably — and not because of a cold, but because your immune system is reacting to something that is actually harmless. Allergic rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes, triggered by a defence mechanism that overshoots its mark.

But the nose is more than a breathing organ. It is the first thing to touch the world — it smells, it tests, it filters. And it is the organ that most directly shows how you stand in relation to the world: open or closed, permeable or blocked, receptive or defensive.

Allergic rhinitis shows you that you are hiding behind a facade — distanced from your own warm core, critical, controlled, keeping yourself at arm's length from yourself and from others.
